Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co., Ltd. conducted an internal validation of the survivability of its additional 4 hectares of planted trees at Mt. Balagbag – San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. The said area is the 3rd tranche of the Nature Nurture Project of NSCR CP02 along with NSTren Consortium and Department of Transportation on December 2021. With a 91% survival rate of the 4,700 slope protection seedlings of Narra and Bignay – this area, if maintained with at least 80% survivability, will absorb carbon emission of up to 82.7 tons per annum when the trees are fully grown.
