As part of Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co., Ltd.’s (SMCC) corporate social responsibilities, a joint clean-up drive was conducted on June 8 and 15, 2024, at Ugong Creek in Borol 1st, Balagtas, Bulacan. This collaborative effort involved representatives from the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Balagtas District Jail, and the Balagtas Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO). Together, we worked to restore Ugong Creek, enhancing the local ecosystem and promoting community health.
The clean-up drive brought the SMCC, local government agencies, and community members, all united in their dedication to environmental protection. Activities included the removal of trash and debris from the creek and surrounding areas, as well as the proper disposal of waste materials. By addressing pollution and improving water quality, this initiative not only beautifies the area but also helps to protect the local flora and fauna and reduce the risk of flooding.
This joint effort highlights the power of collaboration in achieving environmental goals. SMCC is proud to partner with PENRO, BJMP Balagtas District Jail, and Balagtas MENRO to make a positive impact on the environment. Our ongoing commitment to such initiatives reflects our dedication to sustainable practices and our responsibility to the communities in which we operate. Together, we are building a cleaner, greener future for all.
