On November 22, SMCC took on two important activities along the Meycauayan River—a major cleanup and a bokashi ball initiative to help rehabilitate the waterway.
At Caingin Bridge, volunteers used DIY tools, made of fan covers and rods, to retrieve and pack waste into sacks for proper disposal. A highlight of the day was working alongside representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), local stakeholders, and other organizations, who participated in the cleanup and invited us to collaborate on future projects.
Meanwhile, near MacArthur Highway, volunteers introduced bokashi balls—eco-friendly power balls packed with microorganisms designed to break down pollutants naturally. Volunteers enthusiastically threw these into the river to stimulate the rehabilitation process and improve water quality.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this meaningful effort.
